Global 3D printing powder market on the rise

By March 27, 2019 No Comments

The success of 3D printers is creating a large market for 3D powder

As 3D printers continue to become more common, the need for 3D printer specialty inks is rising. The ink is manufactured with a base of 3D printing powder, which has special properties that result in the ink becoming more densely packed and which ensure uniformity and proper 3D rendering in different objects. Because of the popularity of 3D printers, 3D printing powder is becoming one of the hottest commodities in the market.

According to some estimates, the market for 3D printing powders is expected to result in a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.3% between now and 2025. At this rate, the market could reach as high as $1.55 trillion within the next six years. The biggest market is expected to be the North American market, followed by Europe and Asia. These three will reportedly account for 85% of the entire 3D powder market. Conversely, the Middle East and Latin America will see a decrease in market share over the same period.

Asia Pacific is poised to see the biggest increase, driven by improved economies and growth in the investment of technology in the region. Urbanization increases will also contribute to further growth, as will increased production in industries such as aerospace, pharmaceuticals and automobiles.

The use of 3D powder allows for an increase in the durability and strength of user products. It also ensures products are lighter and able to be manufactured quicker, reducing overhead and replenishing supply lines more efficiently.
